Princes Dock itself was built by John Foster in 1810-21 to an outline design by John Rennie, Princes Dock was named after the Prince Regent, later George IV. It adjoins the Liverpool World Heritage Site and has unrivalled views of the mouth of the River across to New Brighton. Visitors can sit and enjoy the tranquil environment whilst watching the canal boats slowly pass though the Leeds-Liverpool canal link or enjoy the stunning river views and watch the sea vessels and ferries pass by.
