But the footballing giants aren't the only teams on Merseyside; Wirral's First Division club, Tranmere Rovers, plays across the Mersey at Prenton Park.

Tranmere Rovers got its name in 1885 after changing its name from Belmont FC (formed in 1884 when Lyndhurst Wanderers and Belmont Cricket Club came together).

In 1887 Tranmere Rovers relocated to Ravenshaws Field (later re-named as Prenton Park) but in 1912 they moved to the Prenton Park where they are know to play to this day.
