St.Helens RLFC

Saints the most successful rugby club of the Super League era. Founded in 1873, and moving to their current ground at Knowsley Road in 1890, they were founder members of the breakaway Northern Union in 1895, from which the 13-a-side game we know today evolved.

Saints played in the first Rugby League Challenge Cup Final in 1897. Since then, they have played in many successful finals most recently winning the Challenge Cup in 2008 for the third time in a row and landing their fourth League Leader's Trophy in a row.
