EVERTON Tigers

EVERTON Tigers are Merseyside's only professional basketball team, and play in the UK's only professional league, the British Basketball League (BBL).

After their debut season in 2007, the Tigers have already established themselves as one of the leading teams, and have high hopes for the 2008-9 season.

Their new head coach Tony Garbelotto has much experience in the BBL, and his new signings which supplement the core of last season's team bring a blend of winning experience and youth. As assistant coach to the emerging GB international team, Tony will look to build on the success of last season's play-off position, and has stated his aims of competing strongly in all four major competitions.

The Tigers play most of their home games at Greenbank Sports Academy, near Sefton Park, Liverpool, with tip-off at 7.30pm most Fridays. Though supported by the club, the Tigers operate within Everton in the Community, and hope to attract basketball fans of all colours - red and blue. Basketball is a fun, fast-moving game, and match night will appeal to all ages for what is a very friendly and great value family night out.
