Liverpool Rocks

A Real Tour de Chords

By population, Liverpool is an average-sized city, but it punches above its weight in its musical contribution. The Guinness Book of Records named Liverpool the Capital of Pop because its artists have had more No. 1 singles than any equivalent city.

One of Liverpool's luminaries is Pete Wylie, an integral part of the scene since the Punk era, and he's now giving tours of the settings of Liverpool musical folklore. You'll visit venues and clubs and soak up the spirit of the ages that inspired the sounds. Anyone in love with pop will be lavished with priceless insider info, nostalgia and stories from the past three decades of Liverpool pop.

The tour picks up where The Beatles left off, in the late 1970s and 80s, when names such as Elvis Costello, Echo and the Bunnymen, Icicle Works, Teardrop Explodes, Wah!, OMD, Frankie, Half Man Half Biscuit and The Christians ruled the airwaves.

The 90s saw Indie giants The La's, The Lightning Seeds, The Boo Radleys and Cast taking the baton, then passing it on to The Coral, Ladytron, Atomic Kitten, Sugababes and The Zutons.

Now you can find out where they all started in the company of a Liverpudlian Legend.
