The Walker Art Gallery holds a stunning collection of paintings, sculpture and decorative arts spanning over six hundred years. Home to outstanding works by Rubens, Rembrandt, Poussin and Gainsborough, the Walker is also one of the finest art galleries in Europe.

Here you’ll also find Tudor portraits and a large collection of Victorian and Pre-Raphaelite works including Dante’s Dream by Rossetti, hanging alongside other artists such as Millais, Turner, Monet and Holman Hunt.

Between Christmas and New Year the Walker Art Gallery will be holding events for youngsters.

Big Art for Little Artists 
Open daily 10am - 5pm 
Craft activities 10am - 4pm 
Big Art for Little Artists is the Walker’s children’s gallery that brings art to life through paintings, sculpture, toys and costumes. Get creative with hands-on activities and interactive fun. 

Party hats 
27, 28, 29, 30 December - 11am - 4pm 
Get in the party mood and create a snappy hat to wear as you welcome in 2018!
2018 Crafty calendars 
2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 January - 11am - 4pm 

Get crafty and create a calendar for 2018 at the Walker.

Every Saturday 11am 
Head to the Walker for Saturday story and rhymetime in the Big Art for Little Artists gallery.
Toddler time 
Monday and Friday 10am - 11am & 1pm -2pm
(Except 25 December, 1 January) 
Bring your babies and toddlers to Big Art for Little Artists for an hour of creative play, exploration, songs and stories. 

Every Tuesday, 3pm
(except 26 December)
Go along to the Walker on Tuesday afternoons for storytime in Big Art for Little Artists.
